• Tracing paper for translating and removing patterns, graph paper in order to more accurately build patterns;

It is not recommended to choose a very old, worn towel for the product - large frayed areas on terry cloth will not look very presentable. If the material has fallen off heavily from time to time, it should be steamed with an iron, and then combed carefully with a small scallop - usually this helps to restore even stale tissue to life.
Unfortunately, such slippers are not suitable for socks in those houses where plank floors are laid - even well-polished boards can cling to the material, which ultimately will greatly reduce the service life of shoes. However, if you still liked this model, it is recommended to do “prophylaxis” - on the sole in the place where it is in contact with the floor, you should sew or paste hard skin or drape in several layers. After the impromptu outsole wears out, you can simply replace it.
Tip: when bonding polymer materials (artificial leather, rubber, etc.) with each other, use the so-called "second" glue. The fact is that it works on the principle of a very powerful solvent, simply welding both layers into one, so this gluing will last much longer.

But for the manufacture of the following models, you can use an old sweater lying around in a closet. Before sewing, the fabric should be inspected for minor defects, washed if necessary, and ironed. If a sewing machine will be used for sewing, it is worth buying needles designed for knitwear. In addition, the edges of the fabric must be carefully processed, otherwise it will crumble sooner than the slippers are ready. Overlock in this case is unlikely to work, so the edge can be sewn with a zigzag machine seam or a manual buttonhole, and then coated with a special fabric glue, always waiting for it to dry completely. Fans of the motives of the Far North, in order to bring the product as close to boots as possible, can trim the slippers with fur - it will be needed a little, and you can even use trimmings. In addition, home shoes and embroidery in the form of traditional deer and snowflakes, which can be made with metallic thread, will decorate.
Tip: if the floors are cold and your feet freeze, you can add a lining of natural or artificial fur to the design of homemade slippers. If the shoes are made according to the principle of boots, as, for example, shown above, then the lining pattern can be made in the form of a boot, then insert a slipper inside, straighten and sweep in several places. However, if there was no fur, you can warm the house shoes with a synthetic winterizer, having quilted the fabric on a sewing machine or manually.
