The best way to beat depression, relieve anxiety and stress is to dance passionate tango. This is the conclusion made by scientists from the University of New England. To participate in the experiment, researchers attracted 41 people. They all complained of insomnia, uncontrolled anxiety and depression. Volunteers offered to temporarily abandon drug therapy and begin to engage in dancing and music.

Two weeks with twenty patients, whose age ranged from 18 to 73 years, were engaged in professional dancers. After eight lessons of 90 minutes, during which different poses, turns, figures and steps were learned, the mental state of people became much better. For all other respondents, the clinical indicators did not change or even worsened.

A month later, the subjects again began to dance tango. For many of them, the symptoms of depression have disappeared. Dance and appropriate musical accompaniment proved to be an effective psychotherapeutic method, helped people to gain confidence and build social ties.

After all, tango, besides passion, implies mutual understanding and trust. Scientists really noticed that a greater number of sessions are required for full recovery, since treatment involves not only medication and therapy. The patient should receive real pleasure from the partner, music and, of course, from himself.
