Genital health of a woman always depends on many factors, and it also affects reproductive function.

If the cervix hurts, this is the main signal that you need to go to the gynecologist.

Pain can occur sharply, and can occur only during menstruation.

In order to establish the exact cause of this condition, you need to be examined by a doctor.

Cervix hurts - causes

Most often, the cervix hurts due to the presence of erosions that occur under different circumstances. We can distinguish the most common diseases that are accompanied by severe pain in the cervix:

1. The mucous membrane of the cervix is thinned, in medicine it bears its name - erythroplakia. Such a diagnosis can be established if a red spot is found on the cervix. Studies of this state are still ongoing, and it is not yet possible to state the exact cause.

2. Ectropion. Such a complex term can be called a condition in which an eversion of the mucous membrane of the cervical canal occurs. Such damage can occur during abortion or diagnostic curettage, which leads the uterus to traumatic expansion. The diagnosis can be made with complications after a natural birth.

3. Leukoplakia. On the epithelium of the cervix, small keratinized areas are formed that look like normal skin. The disease usually begins to develop after a recent infection or injury. Unfortunately, this pathology practically does not manifest itself in any way, which is why the disease is diagnosed already when it develops into a malignant formation.

4. Cervical erosion. On the vaginal area of the cervix, damage to the stratified epithelium occurs. A slight scratch or wound appears. If there is no inflammatory process, then it will heal by itself after some time. But if foci of inflammation are observed in the vagina, then the wound cannot heal favorably. In this case, the gynecologist will prescribe anti-inflammatory therapy, which will get rid of the disease.

5. Pseudo-erosion, or ectopia of the cervix. Pathology consists, first of all, in the fact that the cylindrical epithelium is located not in the cervical canal, but outside it. No special complaints from patients are observed. However, sometimes a slight pain appears in the cervical region, and blood discharge appears.

Regardless of what caused the pain, it must be eliminated. In no case do not delay with diseases, if even slight discomfort appears, you need to see a doctor.

Cervix hurts - possible consequences

As a result of the development of female diseases, cervical cancer can develop. For example, leukoplakia, cervical erosion, polyps or papillomas. That is why, if pain is felt in the uterus, you can not hesitate to consult a doctor.

Uterine erosion often translates into cancer. The disease itself can occur after a difficult birth, abortion or promiscuous sexual contact. Erosion is quite insidious and sometimes a woman does not even realize that she has it. However, the consequences can be really terrible. Often women hear about the diagnosis and are in no hurry with treatment, believing that soon everything will go away by itself.

Another disease that leads to the development of cancer is papilloma. Their virus of the same name causes. Moreover, papilloma can form not only on the cervix, but also on the genitals. Today, you can protect yourself from the development of this disease. Today there is a special vaccine, it is suitable for those women who are under the age of 50 years.

Polyps are also dangerous and must be removed. Benign growth of the mucous membrane of the cervical canal occurs. Their appearance is small growths resembling nipples.

Cervical cancer belongs to the so-called "visual" tumors. That is, when viewed on a chair, they are easy to notice. It is best to have an examination with a gynecologist, two weeks after the last menstruation (or rather, two weeks after the first day). For a long time, cancer can hide and absolutely not manifest itself. This is the most dangerous, since the larger the stage of its development, the more difficult it will ultimately be to get rid of it.

If suddenly the vaginal discharge became more abundant, their color changed, pain appeared in the cervix, then you need to visit a gynecologist as soon as possible. Even seemingly non-hazardous diseases, in the end, can lead to quite serious consequences.

Cervix hurts - what to do

The treatment of pain in the cervix will directly depend on the cause of its occurrence. After a full examination, history taking, obtaining test results, the specialist will prescribe a course of treatment.

Erythroplakia

The disease is easily treatable, but not conservative, but surgical. Several treatment options can be distinguished, each of them is aimed at the destruction of those areas that were affected:

• cryodestruction. Exposure to liquid nitrogen, pathological tissues are destroyed;

• diathermocoagulation - the affected tissue is exposed to current with great frequency;

• conization of the cervix. The cone-shaped part on the cervix is removed;

• laser exposure.

The method for treatment is chosen exclusively by the doctor. It all depends on many factors - the age of the patient, the degree of tissue damage, whether pregnancy is planned.

Surgical intervention is almost always combined with antibiotic therapy.

Ectropion

Immediately after this diagnosis has been established, treatment should be started immediately. First of all, it is necessary to exclude inflammatory processes, as well as restore the anatomical shape of the cervix. As soon as the cervical canal is restored, all its functions will be restored.

Treatment is selected individually for each patient. If surgical intervention is necessary, the patient needs to go to hospital. The rehabilitation period is good enough and almost always without complications.

Leukoplakia

There are many ways that you can cure a disease. This can be laser exposure, drug therapy, cold treatment and much more.

Recently, they began to use chemical coagulation. The method consists in the use of a drug such as solkovagin. This is a completely painless therapy that can destroy all tissue changes.

Experts say that it is impossible to cure the disease with folk remedies. After all, a disease can turn into a malignant tumor, and if qualified help is not provided in a timely manner, then the forecasts are not comforting.

During treatment, you can not have sexual intercourse. It is also undesirable to take any drugs if they have not been prescribed by your doctor.

Cervical erosion

Many believe that if the disease does not bother, then it does not need to be treated.

Most often, erosion is cauterized with the help of current, but this is a rather unpleasant procedure. After cauterization, scars remain, the pharynx in the cervix may narrow. For this reason, many women cannot become pregnant.

Therefore, in modern medicine there are other ways to treat the disease - freezing, the method of radio waves.

As a result of freezing, a slight shortening of the neck may occur.

In some cases, the disease is treated surgically. Surgical intervention is also necessary if a woman has recently had a difficult birth.

After the development of cervical erosion, you should definitely consult a doctor. In no case should you self-medicate.

Ectopia of the cervix

Thanks to the right method of treatment, complications can be avoided and relapses can be prevented. It should be noted that each treatment method is effective, regardless of its cost and complexity.

The most popular treatments are:

• freezing. It affects the uterus at low temperatures;

• laser destruction. This is an effective and fairly less traumatic method of treatment;

• radio wave destruction. It is not used as often as there is very little quality equipment.

The cervix hurts: can I get pregnant and give birth

Many girls ask if they can get pregnant and give birth to a healthy baby if the cervix often hurts and the disease bothers.

If the integrity of the epithelium is damaged as a result of diseases, then the cervix will be more vulnerable and infections can easily penetrate into it. This, of course, can neither affect the health of the unborn child. Those places that are damaged can simply burst during childbirth.

That is why experts insist that pregnancy planning is possible only after all diseases have been cured.

If diseases were identified already at the moment when the woman was in a position, it is not worth starting a fight with them immediately. After all, special harm will not be done to either the mother or the baby. But you need to know that, for example, with erosion, premature birth can occur. Many girls can have a miscarriage, so immediately after you find out about your excellent position, you need to go to the clinic and register.

You need to monitor your health, in which case, you can not let everything go by its own accord. Be sure to undergo examinations, even for the purpose of prevention. If all diseases are eliminated in a timely manner, then a woman will be able to live a full life, and most importantly, healthy children will be born to her.
